The United Nations was founded after World War II, its purpose was to stop war and bring about peace.
Delhi, October 23 (IANS). The United Nations Organization was founded on 24 October 1945 after the end of the Second World War. However, its foundation stone was laid on 1 January 1942. The purpose of establishing the United Nations was to prevent terrible tragedies such as war and to achieve peace in the world. On January 1, 1942, 26 countries signed the United Nations Declaration. It was then drafted on June 26, 1945 in San Francisco. 50 countries jointly prepared and signed the draft for the United Nations. After this, the United Nations was officially established on 24 October 1945. India is also one of the founding members of the United Nations. India signed the United Nations Charter on 26 June. The present time calls for changes to be made in the United Nations. Many countries, including India, are demanding changes in the United Nations. Concerns are expressed about the way in which images of the war emerge. India is also making continuous efforts to gain permanent membership of the United Nations. Many other countries of the world came forward in support of India to get permanent membership of the United Nations. Russia, Bhutan, Mauritius, France, United Kingdom, America and the UN Secretary General himself supported India to get permanent membership of the UNSC. Let us tell you that out of 15 members, five members are permanent. The remaining 10 other members are temporary. The five permanent members of the UNSC are Russia, America, China, France and Britain. China has many problems with India becoming a permanent member. China does not want India to become a permanent member of UNSC. The 10 non-permanent members of the UNSC are elected every 2 years.
