Saudi Arabia attempts to move to the production of technology and its exports in the coming stage, while all its capabilities and energies are utilized to be a leading power on the various fields of technology, according to Abdullah Al -Sawah, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, during the ‘Budget Budget Forum’ in Riyad, Wednesday. In the field of artificial intelligence, the minister pointed out the purchase of the kingdom of an interest in the company “Xai” and the launch of a cloud computer platform based on the next generation of artificial intelligence accelerators in collaboration with “Google” during the “Future of Investment Initiative”. The Kingdom is looking forward to becoming a global artificial intelligence center, at a time when preparing to start a new project with a $ 100 billion support, as part of his attempt to develop a technological center that improves competition with its neighbor of the UAE, according to Bloomberg earlier. The initiative called ‘Project Transcendation’ will be invested in data centers, startups and other infrastructure to develop artificial intelligence, as well as attract new talents to the kingdom, develop the local technological environment and to encourage technology companies to invest resources in the country. The ‘Public Investment Fund’ signed a partnership agreement with ‘Google’ last October during the future investment initiative to start a global artificial intelligence center near the city of Dammam, expecting to add about $ 71 billion to the gross domestic product of the kingdom in 8 years. The minister unveiled a large leap in the cloud computed sector in the kingdom to exceed the ability of data centers 90 megawatts targeted in the Kingdom’s 2030 vision to 200 megawatts, with investments more than 10 billion Riyals. This leap was helped by the progress the kingdom made in the digital infrastructure, as the number of homes equipped with data calls from one million homes reached 4 million in seven years, according to the minister.
