The case is related to Guangdong Hongy Crocodile Industry Company, who was started in 2005 by a businessman named Mo Zunarong. Mo Junarong was once called a ‘crocodile god’ in China, but over time his business drowned in deep debt. The company’s assets were confiscated, including 100 tonnes of live crocodiles. Now the court has ruled that these crocodiles should be sold to repay the company’s debt. The auction began on March 10, which will last until May 9, 2025, that is, for a total of two months. What should buyers do? The court also set several important conditions regarding the auction of crocodiles in China. The buyer must have a crocodile television license. The winning host must bear the costs associated with handling, weight, loading and transport. 3 Lakh Yuan deposits are needed to participate in the auction. If a buyer does not meet the conditions, his deposit will be confiscated. Crocodiles in China are only animals, no business models are seen as a valuable commercial resource worldwide.
