Live from London, his Saturday night! Snl takes sketch comedy across from the dam

London (AP) – Live From London, it’s Saturday night! Wait, London? You have heard it correctly. Saturday Night Live announced on Thursday that it plans to launch a British version of the US Sketch Comedy Show celebrating its 50th anniversary across the dam. The British version, produced with Sky Studios, will have a British cast of comedians – which will be announced later – and follow the same format with well -known host and star music. SNL -creator Lorne Michaels is the executive producer of Saturday Night Live UK while staying in the same role at the NBC show in New York. “For more than 50 years, Live Saturday Night has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, which reflects and creates the global conversation, all under the masterful comic guidance of Lorne Michaels,” said Sky Studios CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz. “We are delighted to work with Lorne and the SNL team to bring an all-British version of the show to British audiences next year-all on Saturday night from London.” The long -established show regularly roasts the powerful. US President Donald Trump and Tech Titan Elon Musk have been skewed lately, and both have previously hosted the 90 -minute performance. SNL is broadcast easily from a studio at Rockefeller Plaza at about 23:30 and usually opens with a sketch that turns while the actors turn to the camera, character break and announce: “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” The mix of political satire, horrible skits, fake ads, comic book videos and the regular “Weekend Update” cover on the news introduced the careers of many comedians and actors. The timetable of famous members of the cast includes the late John Belushi, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Kenan Thompson and Kate McKinnon. Attempts to introduce SNL in other countries, such as France, Japan and Italy, are typically short-lived, although a version of the show in South Korea remains on the air.
