‘The Luckiest Man in America’ was inspired by ’70s Softcore & Goodwill – ryan

When was the last time you were genuinely surprised by a movie and had a great time in the theater? You will with the thrilling new game-show drama The Luckiest Man in AmericaStarring Paul Walter Hauser (The Fantastic Four), Walton Goggins (Fallout), and other Big names. The recently released movie is actually based on a true story, set in the 1980s around the game show Press your luck – and a conman who thought he could beat the system for an endless supply of cash. To say more about the juicy story of The Luckiest Man in America Would be a disservice, but Moviefsb recently caught up with the movie’s Director, Samir Oliverosto learn more about his experience bringing the wild story to life-including how he stumbled upon the real-life craziness in the first place.

“I actually found a vhs tape in goodwill. I go to thrift shops frequently when I’m writing, to find movie negatives and photos. It’s good inspiration for character and character building. Adding:

“And I was watching it, and it seamed very fun, and I started researching about this game show. And then I found the Michael Larson Scandal, and that’s when I started looking for the movie (about it). I was like, ‘I’m gonna watch this.’ And there was no movie.

“Obviously, we wanted to have that very ’80s synthy … soundtrack that you hear. That was very key for the time. But then, we wanted this romantic motif because, at the end of the day, what he was just trying to get his family back. Called Piero piccioni that did a bunch of softcore porn movies in the ’70s.

Hauser’s New Character: “An onion”

And then there’s the film’s leading man, Golden Globe-Winner Paul Walter Hauser, who nails the sort of antihero role of Michael Larson, a real-life con artist who thought he had press your luck all figured out (unevenownst to the producers). “We ghosts about Michael as an onion, where we were going to be peeling layers off of him as the movie progressed,” Oliveros Told us, Adding:

“So the four questions that we were answering throughout the movie were: what is he doing; how is he doing it; who really is this guy; and why did he do it? And yeah, we tried to be as possible as possible to the original one. Celebrated and pushed the (game show) button.

“Everything that he did outside of the 40 minutes that you can find on youtube of the taping were our playground,” continued oliveros. “We didnt know what Michael was doing during the commercial breaks. We didn’T know what he was doing during the casing and after it. So those were the moment Paul was able to shine and make it his own.” See hauser shine for yourself.
