Live-Action ‘Tangled’ Remake Shelved After ‘Snow White’ Box Office Debut – ryan

The big mouse loves to print money using their popular ips whenever they can, but it seems the future of their live-action movies is now in Jeopardy. One of its most anticipated remakes, Tangledjust got a very troubling update that will leave fans at odds.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney has hit the pause button on the live-action remake of the 2010 animated film Tangled. It was set to be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) On board to direct based on a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Thor: Love and Thunder). Although it could be brought back to life at some point, the failure of Snow White Has caused disney doubts about its in-deplevopment remake slate. The latest news is partially due to some internal structural changes at Disney as well, according to thr. So, as or right now, Tangled will need more than some very long hair to bring it back up to the top of the priority list.

However, of the ones to get a complete theatrical release, it closely resembles the trajectory of the live-action Dumbowhich cost $ 170 million to make and grossed $ 353 million worldwide. The Big Difference is that Snow White Had a reported budget of around $ 250 million, making it nearly impossible for disney to recoup its investment, much less make a profit.
Of Course, The Question Remains: What Caused SNOW WHITE To crash and burn before it even landed in theaters? Some fans will say that rachel Zegler is mainly to blame (for reasons that don’t make a lot of sense), while others point to Gal Gadot’s own controversial statements as a factor in the box office. However, most can probably agree that it seems Disney had given up on the movie’s marketing campaign before it really took off. They may have been scared of further dividing an audience that probably already thought the remake looked pointless in the first place. But one thing has become even clearer after the film’s premiere – Zegler makes for a Terrific Disney Princess, and Mark Webb Knows How to make a pretty movie.
