Shocking Video | Woman drowned in the Bhagirathi River of Uttarakhand during the filming of Instagram reel | Today news

A family holiday became a nightmare after a 35-year-old woman was swept away from Nepal by the strong streams of Uttarakhand’s Bhagirathi River while filming a pulley. The tragic incident happened in Uttarkashi on Monday and left her family and viewers in shock, NDTV reports. The woman, whose name was not officially released, visited her family members in Uttarkashi with her 11-year-old daughter. That day, the mother-daughter duo went to Manikarnika Ghat-a place on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, an important tributary of the Ganges. According to eyewitnesses and reports by NDTV, the woman asked her daughter to record a video of her in the river. In the footage that has emerged since then, the woman is seen smiling at the camera as she walks into the water. Within seconds she loses her balance, she starts to slip and is swept away by the powerful river streams. “Mom,” her daughter is heard screaming as her mother struggles to stay over the water and crying for help before she disappears below the surface. Bystanders at the ghat immediately warned the authorities. A search and rescue operation was launched immediately, but some of the latest updates were not found. The emotional toll on the daughter, who saw that the whole incident unfolded while filming it was especially devastating. She is currently with family members in Uttarkashi. The tragedy has aroused a renewed concern about the growing tendency to film roles and social media content in unsafe conditions. Local authorities and citizens have repeated the need for prudence and awareness, especially near rivers and hilly sites. This is not the first such incident. In July last year, 26-year-old Instagram influenceder Kamdar lost her life after falling into a ravine near Maharashtra’s Raigad while shooting a pulley during a trip with friends. While the search in Uttarkashi continues, officials have urged the public to be aware of safety guidelines, especially in natural environments where conditions can quickly become dangerous.
