Decrease in government of government wheat in Bhojpur, farmers give preference to private traders for better benefits
Harvesting wheat in the Bhojpur district is almost complete; Most of the farmers have already sold their products directly from their lands or barns. Government agencies are struggling to buy wheat, as the market price is Rs 200-300 more than the MSP of Rs 2425 per quintal. The current market price is Rs 2550 to Rs 2575 per quintal. In an effort to promote the purchase, the district cooperative officer urged lovers to sell at least one percent of their wheat at government agencies, emphasizing that the MSP only keeps market prices high. He also assured the farmers to purchase without pre -registration and provide free bags. Despite these efforts, the purchase remains slow, as the process began on March 15, only 136 MT wheat was purchased from 64 farmers in 39 days. The cooperative department authorized 119 committees for acquisition. Sahar farmer Bala Ji said that the sale to private traders became a more attractive option because of the complex process of the cooperative division and low prices. Even after one and a half months, only one digit of wheat was purchased at most purchasing centers. In Agia, Tarari and JagdishPur blocks, the maximum 31 metric tons, 30 metric tons and 29 metric tons of wheat were obtained. Bihiya, Charpokhari and Shahpur each bought one metric ton, while macaws, Barhra and Sahar bought two metric tons of wheat. Share this story -tags
