Jammu and Kashmir: Baramulla residents feel relieved by getting cheap medicine from Jan Aushadhi Kendras
Baramulla, May 11 (IANS). Cheap medicine comes to ordinary people in Jan Aushadhi Kendras who opened under the Prime Minister Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Project (PM-BJP). Thousands of families have become regular clients of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the Baramulla district Jammu and Kashmir. They are permanently away from private medical stores and now buy medicines at cheaper prices. Many clients while talking to the news agency, Ians told how the government’s healthcare scheme changed their lives. A customer Mushtaq Ahmed said the scheme gave people like him great relief. He said: “Medicine is becoming expensive, their prices are getting to the air. But in this center we get medicine at many concession prizes. Especially poor and marginalized families benefit from it.” He said: “We are very grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he started such a plan.” Azizur Rahman Baig said: “This is a very useful plan for the lower classes. I am a heart patient. The medicine that is in my hand at this time is 100 rupees at the medical shop, but here I get it for 10 rupees.” He said: “We are very grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this initiative. However, there must be more such centers so that the whole society can gain its benefit.” The owner of the Jan Aushadhi Kendra shared detailed information on how these centers hold changes in the lives of the people. He said: “The monthly medical bill of any heart patient is largely 5,000 to 8,000 rupees. But here it is about 1,000 to 2000 rupees. The scheme brought the patients relief as many people could not wear it, but now they buy it regularly.” Local resident Mohammad Saeed Bhat said his grandparents were suffering from diabetes and that they had been buying medicine from here for the past two-three months. It is noteworthy that under the Jan Aushadhi project, a total of 15.057 Jan Aushadhi Kendras (Jak) was opened across the country by February 2025.
