'AAP' sent proposal to Delhi Municipal Corporation, BJP withdrawing user costs: Ankush Narang
New -Delhi, May 15 (IANS). Ankush Narang of AAM AADMI Party (AAP), leader of the opposition in the Delhi municipal corporation, sent a proposal demanding the user cost imposed by Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD). He said the party will try to pass this proposal in the MCD house to be held on May 21. Ankush Narang, who is aimed at the BJP, said that unless MCD is able to collect 100 % door-to-door refuse, it must introduce the public to any residential or commercial property. MCD first improves the sanitation system, then the user costs. He said the BJP decided that MCD was driving a mega netness, but Delhi’s cleaning system did not improve. He claims that only 60 to 70 percent of the door-to-door refuse is picked up in Delhi and that it is also by private agencies that people pay themselves. Consignments appointed by MCD failed in this work. He said that there are garbage in many places in Delhi, whether it is the slopes, FCTs centers or vulnerable points. He said: “MCD could not remove garbage from these places. In such a situation, it is wrong to impose a user cost on the public.” Narang said that the amount of user costs is recovered more than property taxes. The AAP leader gave an example that those whose home tax is 800 to 850 rupees must pay the user costs up to Rs 1,000. Similarly, the user cost of Rs 2,500 to 3000 rupees of property taxes of Rs 5,000 is charged. He also targeted Mayor Raja Iqbal and said that King Iqbal, after becoming the mayor on April 25, had the assurance to withdraw the user charge, but no steps were taken despite a month. He said: “There is a big difference between BJP’s words and actions. The promises he made to the public were not fulfilled.” Narang said he wrote a letter to MCD commissioner Ashwini Kumar and Mayor on May 6 demanding him to withdraw the user costs, but so far no answer has been received. He said that if the letter of the leader of opposition is not answered, what will happen to the complaints of the general public? Narang said that if the MCD user does not withdraw the charge, the AAM AADMI party will raise this issue of the road to the house. He made it clear that his party would not allow any financial burden on the people of Delhi. -Ians pkt/Ekd shares this story tags
