India is ready to remove 100 percent tariff on US goods: Donald Trump
Washington, May 17 (IANS). US President Donald Trump has claimed that India has offered to remove all rates on US goods. Even after that, however, he said that, despite clear success, he was not in a hurry to finalize the trade agreement. In an interview to Fox News Friday, Donald Trump said, India is the best example of a country determined to remove all its obstacles. Trump said: “They make matters almost impossible. Do you know that they are willing to lower their rates by 100 percent for the United States?” Despite this allegation, he indicated: “Everyone wants to trade with us. How soon this agreement will see with India. I’m not in a hurry. We don’t plan a business with everyone.” Indian Foreign Minister Sk Jaishankar said on Thursday: “The conversation is going on, but is far from the final phase.” Foreign Minister Jaishankar said: “Trading negotiations are underway between India and America. It is complicated dialogues. Nothing is decided until everything is corrected. Any business agreement must be mutually beneficial. It will have to work for both countries. Trump’s statement comes at a time when his team is considering turning the global trade dynamics into a large scale. Trump said on Friday that he plans to set up new trade partner import tax rates “within the next two to three weeks”. Trump also said he is considering the possibility of expanding trade with Pakistan. The US president said it was an important factor to grow the trading process in mediation for the ceasefire agreement between the two countries in the midst of border dispute after the border dispute in India. “I want to equate with both countries to bring about peace,” Trump said. Not only India-Pakistan, but also the US China is trying to reduce the dispute. Trump described it as a generosity of the world’s second largest economy. After the recent talks, the US -China trade war seems to be stopping. The US reduced its rate on China from 145 percent to 30 percent and Beijing reduced its tariff levels from 125 percent to 10 percent. Both countries are also considering further discussions.
