A 35 -year -old man from the Bhagalpur district Bhagalpur was arrested on Thursday night for allegedly threatening the WhatsApp call during Premier Narendra Modi’s visit to the state. Officials said the arrest by local police and central security agencies was made by a joint operation a few hours after receiving the information on the threat. Police resources revealed that the Premier’s Office received an imminent WhatsApp call that targets him during the visit of the Premier Modi to Bihar. This was responded immediately by trade union agencies, including National Investigation Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Bhagalpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hriday Kant said on Friday that after the central agencies informed local police, a special team led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Act and Order) Chandra Bhushan was collected immediately. The team consisted of technical cell and staff of the sultanganj police station. “Technical analysis revealed that the number 71 times was activated using the Virtual Private Network (VPN). After this, the team discovered a cellphone number registered in the name of 71 -year -old Mantu Chaudhary, a resident of Sultanganj,” said the official. SSP Kant said that Chaudhary, who claims to be a non-matriculated farmer with a basic key path phone, denies any kind of involvement and claims to be involved by his cousin Sameer Kumar Ranjan. ” Further investigation, including digital forensic, led officials to the BCA graduate Ranjan of the town of Maheshi in Sultanganj, who has been unemployed since the Kovid-19 outbreak. Kant said: “During interrogation, he (Sameer Ranjan) acknowledged the crime and was formally arrested.
