The Adani group gained full control of the television network on Friday by securing a 27.26 percent of NDTV founder Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy. Adani Enterprises informed the national stock exchange. The Adani group bought the Roy’s stake at Rs 342.65 per share. The Roy couple is expected to get Rs 602.30 crore from the sale of 1.75 crore shares at this price. This price is 17 percent higher than the price of Rs 294 by the Adani group at the open offer price. Adani Group gave information about the acquisition, said: “Pranav Roy and Radhika Roy’s part of the NDTV group’s promoters group acquired a 27.26 percent stake in NDTV through mutual transfer.” With this, the total stake of Adani Group in NDTV has now risen to 64.71 percent. Shortly after the Adani group took control of the media company, the Roy family resigned with four other directors. Pranav Roy and Radhika Roy were the executive co-president of NDTV. The directors who resigned are Darius Taraporewala and independent directors Kinshuk Dutta, Indrani Roy and John Martin Olon. In addition, it was said on behalf of NDTV that his board approved the proposal to appoint Aman Kumar Singh as non-executive additional director and Sunil Kumar as non-executive independent director.
