Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis expanded his five -month -old cabinet on Tuesday. He recorded the NCP leader Chhagan Bhujball as minister. Bhujbal (77) was sworn in by Maharashtra -Governor CP Radhakrishnan in Raj Bhavan. The inclusion of Bhujbal in the Maharahstra cabinet follows the resignation of Dhananjay Munde, a fellow NCP heavyweight. He retired as the food, civil supplies and consumer protection minister in March following the arrest of his close assistance from Walmik Karad in the murder case of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. Bhujbal had a prominent and eventful political career that spans a few decades. Bhujbal was not included when Fadnavis first expanded its cabinet in December last year. At the time, his exclusion of the Cabinet drew the public disappointment of the experienced leader, a prominent OBC face in the state.
