Accident on camera: 8 dead, 45 injured as train rams in a double -decker box in Mexico
A train collided with a double -decker bus on Monday, September 8 in the city of Atlacomulco, northwest of Mexico City, and left at least eight people and injured 45, according to authorities, AP reports. The state of Mexico’s civil defense agency took to X, saying that emergency personnel still work on the accident site, in an industrial zone with numerous warehouses and factories. Officials have not yet explained how the accident happened, but it seems a video spread on social media shows that the bus is crawling through heavy traffic as it slowly crosses the train tracks. Suddenly a quick train entered the frame and hit the bus in the middle and pushed it along the tracks and eventually out of sight. Moments before the collision, other vehicles can be seen over the tracks as traffic moves forward. A separate aftermath video shows the bus, severely damaged and resting along the tracks, torn off with its roof. People were seen on the top deck when the train gradually stopped. Previous similar incidents have caused a structural failure an increased part of line 12 in the Mexico city metro (between Tezonco and Olivos stations) to dump in May as a train transferred in May.
