PM Modi talks to the Dawoodi Bohra community, has historic steps told Waqf Law
New -Delhi, April 17 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a delegation from the Dawoodi Bohra community in New -Delhi on Thursday and appreciated his support and contribution for the WAQF Act that was recently approved. A video of this meeting also emerged, in which a warm conversation between Premier Modi and members of the Dawoodi Bohra community can be seen. During this meeting, the members of the community expressed their full confidence in the perspective of Premier Modi’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” and thanked him for complying with his long -standing claims regarding the WAQF Act. The Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, was also present during this period. Prime Minister Modi is reminiscent of his long -standing ties with the Dawoodi Bohra community during the event and praised the remarkable traditions of the community in the field of social welfare. He specially set out the community’s contribution in the Waqf Amendment Act. Premier Modi said when the work began at this law, he first consulted Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, a spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community. Syedna also gave very important suggestions during this period. He said: “When the idea of working on Waqf came to me, I first spoke to Syedna Saheb. His advice and community cooperation was important to bring about this act.” PM Modi also added that this act is an important step not only for minorities, but also for all parts of society to ensure justice and equality. Members of the Dawoodi Bohra community involved in the delegation described the WAQF Amendment Act as a historical step for minorities within minorities. A member said: “We are very grateful to include and acknowledge it as a minority within minorities. You will be beneficial for India and all the people to take everyone along.” Another member said his community bought an expensive property for a project in Bhendi Bazaar in Mumbai in 2015 and that someone from Nashik claimed it as WAQF property in 2019. Such demands have plagued the community for a long time. The WAQF Act will solve such problems and we will get right. Prime Minister Modi said that years behind the WAQF Act include years of hard work and intensive study. He said poor Muslims are one of the most affected by the current WAQF system. The purpose of this act is to remove such contradictions and ensure justice for all parts of society. The delegation included business leaders, professional, doctors, teachers and other prominent community representatives. He shared the challenges of his community and wrong demands on his assets through WAQF. He said that India always gave the opportunity to thrive its identity and led by Premier modes, he felt the spirit of inclusion and unity stronger. The delegation, while supporting the prime minister’s vision of developed India until 2047, has committed to providing all possible help in this direction. He said that true development should be focused on people and that the leadership of Premier Modi realizes this view. Community members also appreciated and empowered initiatives such as self -reliant India, MSME support, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. He said that these schemes were especially beneficial to small businesses and women. The prime minister praised the traditions of social welfare of the Dawoodi Bohra community, saying that he had seen this contribution of the community carefully for years. He also remembered his personal relations with the community, saying that his advice and cooperation played an important role in the formation of the WAQF Act. The Dawoodi Bohra community appreciates the work done in terms of India’s progress and inclusive development led by Premier Modi.
