Jakarta – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to the issue of another number of excavation projects approaching the end of the year. Pramono admitted this was due to the use of the APBD which was often carried out at the end of the year. “Indeed, the planning has been going on for a long time, including the so-called cable fall in Fatmawati which is now receiving public attention. This is not something new,” Pramono told journalists at Cengkareng Regional Hospital, West Jakarta on Thursday (16/10/2025). “Then, yes, I must also say what it is, indeed our financial utilization pattern, our APBD (Regional Income and Expenditure Budget) is still often at the end of it like chasing deposits,” he continued. This strategy will be implemented using the 2026 APBD. “But at the city hall itself, I said from the beginning that it would be for the 2026 APBD. From the beginning, if necessary, an auction would even be held in advance,” explains Pramono. He said that he had carried out this pattern when he was still serving in the central government. Pramono assured that the projects that the DKI Provincial Government was working on in the future would not be tight at the end of the year. “We did it in the past under the central government. The Minister at that time was Mr. Basuki (PUPR Minister, Basuki Hadimuljono). So with the same pattern, I will encourage it so that everyone does not chase each other at the end of the year,” he said. The projects in Jakarta that are still ongoing include Jalan Arjuna Selatan, West Jakarta, (Jakbar). Motorists wishing to pass by Jl Arjuna Selatan are diverted via Jl Relasi. The excavation project is estimated to last until December. Another project is at the Jalan Fatmawati-Jalan Kartini Raya intersection, South Jakarta, exactly at the turn to the Fatmawati MRT station. Access was closed at this point due to the construction of a speed table. Head of the DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Service, Heru Suwondo, explained that the construction of this speed table has two main objectives. First, reduce vehicle speed (traffic calming) in the intersection turning area. Second, it increases safety and comfort for pedestrians when crossing because the speed table height is made equal to the pavement. The work was carried out on October 8-12, 2025, and traffic flow at this location began to reopen today, October 13, 2025. Heru said that the speed table construction was carried out at four intersections on Jalan Fatmawati. Two of them have been completed, including the one at the Jalan Kartini Raya intersection. One point at the intersection of Jl Fatmawati Raya-Jl TB Simatupang (direction to Cilandak Town Square). Then at the intersection of Jalan Kartini-Jalan Fatmawati Raya northwards (H Nawi). The last point is at the intersection of Jalan TB Simatupang-Jalan Fatmawati (turn to RS Fatmawati). (ond/idn)
