Adnan Sami remembers late Asrani, pays tribute by sharing clip from 'Lift Karade'
Mumbai, October 21 (IANS). Famous singer Adnan Sami took to his social media account to express his condolences to the late Bollywood actor Asrani, who passed away on the night of October 20. Adnan shared a video clip of his famous song ‘Lift Karade’, in which Asrani was seen in the role of a jailer from the popular film ‘Sholay’. Remembering him, Adnan wrote, “I am deeply saddened to know about the demise of our most loved actor Asrani. A man who was a master of his craft. Though people will always remember him for his brilliant comedy, he was a master of every genre. His acting was equally brilliant. His “British era jailer” dialogue will always be remembered from ‘Sho He further added, “I had the pleasure of working with working and spending time with him when I requested him to be in my music video ‘Lift Karade’. I also wanted him to revive his famous ‘Jailor’ character, to which he agreed wholeheartedly.” Sami added, “He was so dedicated that he ensured that every aspect of his attire was exactly like the one in the film Sholay—the wig, the mustache and the uniform. His enthusiasm and passion for his work was an example for us all to learn from. He was a gentleman. He was full of love and decency.” Adnan paid tribute to Asrani and wrote, “Oh God, thank You for blessing us with a talent like Asrani ji. Thanks for giving us so many memories, Asrani ji! The world of comedy and indeed cinema has become richer because of your invaluable contribution. May your soul rest in peace.” Let us tell you Veteran actor and comedian Asrani passed away on October 20 at 3 pm at the age of 84. According to a close friend of Asrani, the actor died of a lung infection in Mumbai. His last rites were performed at the Santa Cruz Crematorium on Monday.
