Afghan delegation reached Doha for talks with Pakistan

Doha, October 18 (IANS). Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry confirmed on Saturday that a high-level delegation from the Islamic Emirate led by the Taliban regime’s Defense Minister Maulvi Muhammad Yacob Mujahid has reached Doha for talks with the Pakistani side. There is great tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan these days. In such a situation, this visit is considered important to resolve the issue through dialogue between the two sides. Pakistan carried out major airstrikes with military force in many areas of Kabul. Many civilians, including children and women, were killed in this airstrike. According to reports, around 200 Afghans were killed in the attacks by Pakistan, while around 60 Pakistani soldiers were also killed. The Qatar-brokered talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan are taking place amid an extended but strained ceasefire. Even after the ceasefire was agreed between the two neighboring countries following a fierce war last week, the Pakistan Army continues to target the people of Afghanistan on the Durand Line. According to reports, Pakistan carried out airstrikes on three locations in Paktika province late on Friday evening. At least 17 people, including three Afghan cricketers, were killed in this bomb blast. Even before that, Pakistan carried out similar attacks in Afghanistan. –IANS KK/DKP Share this story Tags
