The debate broke out with viral photos of bushwood floating in the Pandoh Damroiroir

A large amount of forest wood is seen floating in the Pandoh Dam Reservoir of the Mandi district, thereby there was a stir on social media. Many people have speculated that the illegal cut of trees in remote forest areas of the Kullu district could be the cause of this. The people and passengers who passed the dam saw wood and it immediately became viral online, which raised concern among the people and demanded an investigation. It is said that debris began to appear in Jeevanala and Gadsa valleys in the Kullu district following a recent cloud neighborhood, causing sudden flooding and many disorders in the surrounding forest areas. The viral post claims that the amount of wood congestion on large scale trees in the upper areas is allegedly swept away with storm water. A post on social media that made a lot of headlines was: “Wood stuck in the Pandoh -Dam near Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The amount of wood indicates that some severe trees were harvested in the upper areas, swept away due to cloud burst. It is necessary to investigate.” In response to the growing speculation, Kullu Circle, Sandeep Sharma, made clear that preliminary conclusions did not support the principle of illegal harvest. He spoke to the tribune and said that Cloudburst became about 20,000 hectares of catchment in the Kullu district, which led to the natural displaced forest residues. Sharma said: “Special teams were sent to judge the situation on the ground.” “So far, evidence indicates that the wood found in the dam is mainly the forest fuel waste – small twigs, branches and leaf materials – that suddenly swept away the flood. There were no signs of illegal harvesting of solid wood at this level.” Share this story -tags
