Ongc expects a major recovery from Mumbai High in 14 months

This partnership began in April (2025). One thing you can say is that green shoots are good. All I can say is that it’s good. We are very optimistic. Small victories will come over 7-8 months, but great victories will take about a year and a half. It is in our contract that will take 2 years to develop, ‘he said. This year, Ongc and BP signed a contract under which BP would serve as the technical services provider (TSP) for Mumbai High Field, India’s largest foreign oil field. In terms of the partnership conditions, ongc ownership and operational control of the field retains. BP will receive a flat fee for two years for its deployed staff, followed by a service fee linked to incremental oil and gas production. The British headquartered energy giant would work in close collaboration with Ongc to stabilize the current field production decline and restore it to a strong growth course. Pankaj Kumar, director of Ongc (offshore), said: “We are still in the study mode. Otherwise, Mumbai High is a big field. They study data. We have identified an internal team that works with them (BP). The CEO said its subsidiary ongc Videsh Ltd is open to obtaining assets all over the world if it is commercially beneficial. “Normally, troubled times no longer costly than a year or two, because the world does not have the ability to tolerate them for a long time. If the asset is acceptable to us, with a future we see for ourselves, and at a reasonable price, we will think we should go. Because this one or two years (of uncertainty) will go away, ‘Singh said.
