Bhopal, May 10 (IANS). In the capital Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh, an agreement was signed on Saturday between Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra for the world’s largest groundwater recharge project. With this project, more than three and a half lakh hectares of both states will receive irrigation facility. On Saturday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, signed a sleeve for ‘Tapi Basin Mega Recharge Project’ at a program organized in Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center. Mohan Yadav said it is the world’s largest groundwater recharge project. It is a unique project that will write a new chapter of groundwater recharge around the world. This will increase the groundwater level of Nimar, especially the large areas of the state. It will be a life for there. It will develop irrigation facility in an area of about one lakh 23 thousand in Madhya Pradesh and two Lakh 37 hectares of Maharashtra. He said it is a matter of happiness that both states have moved forward to the Mega Herbading Scheme that has been stopped for decades. Earlier, projects have been approved of Ken-Betwa and Parvati Kali Sindh Chambal projects for decades. After the sleeve, both state governments will request the government of India to approve the Tapi Mega Herbading Scheme for approval of the Interstate National Irrigation Project. Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said many interstate river projects in India have been captured for a few decades due to a lack of mutual consent between the states. After the arrival of the Government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these schemes are now embodied. As a result of the activity of chief minister Mohan Yadav in Madhya Pradesh, after 25 years, a meeting of Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra Interstate Control Board was held, and he agreed to the Tapi Basin Mega Recycling project and other irrigation schemes. This is extremely beneficial for both states. Fadnavis said the project is the world’s largest water recharge scheme, which is a wonder in the world. The Bajra zone is prepared in the Valley of Tapi River on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra State, which is parallel to the Tapti River, which has an incredible capacity of water. This project will lead to rebooting water in the large area of both states, which will benefit millions of farmers. To speed up the works, the meeting of the Interstate Control Board will be held in Maharashtra in the coming October. -Ians snp/ekd shares these story -tags
