Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) appreciated the steps taken by the Ministry of Transmigration to hold a 24-hour Open House activity as a forum for open dialogue between the government and the community. AHY said this activity is a form of government openness in accepting aspirations, criticism and input from communities in transmigration areas across Indonesia. “I welcome the 24-hour Open House activity with the Ministry of Transmigration. We also saw a very warm dialogue between the community, especially those in various transmigration areas throughout Indonesia. Including regional heads,” AHY said in its statement, Sunday (19/10/2025). These programs include Complete Transmigration, Local Transmigration, Karyanusa Nusantara, Gotong Royong and Patriot Transmigration. “There are five. The first is the Complete Transmigration Programme. Earlier we saw ownership certificates being handed over to community members in the transmigration area. This indicates that they have legal certainty over the land they live on,” he explained. Furthermore, AHY explained that the Patriot Transmigration Program sent expedition teams to various regions to conduct research and map the economic potential of transmigration areas. This aims to ensure that the area can be developed and cooperated with other technical ministries. AHY also emphasized the importance of cross-ministerial synergy to accelerate regional development, especially in the provision of land, basic infrastructure, housing and connectivity. “In our capacity as Coordinating Minister for infrastructure and regional development, we want to continue to encourage close cooperation between the five ministries that are directly on the front line,” he said. He said that the first year of government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto was an important phase for mapping development challenges and strengthening future policy directions. “We still have many things to do. One year is enough for us to map existing problems, and hopefully all progress can be better capitalized this year so that our work is more directed, efficient and has a direct impact on society and national economic growth,” explains AHY. Regarding the implementation of the 24-hour open house, AHY assessed that this initiative reflects the spirit of participatory and transparent public services. “I see this as an initiative with an extraordinary spirit of public service – how the public can have direct access to convey input, aspirations and criticism,” he explained. According to AHY, constructive criticism and aspirations should be used as material for the government’s evaluation. “I saw that there was criticism, but constructive criticism, conveyed in a good way. If it is factual and rational, there is no reason for the government not to listen to the aspirations or criticism of the community,” he stressed. At the end of his speech, AHY appreciated the Ministry of Transmigration which he said could be a role model for other government institutions. “I think the Ministry of Transmigration can be an example that government institutions should have enough space for dialogue and interaction with society wherever they are,” AHY concluded. For information, on this occasion AHY was also accompanied by the Minister of Transmigration, Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman and the Deputy Minister of Transmigration, Viva Yoga. This activity was held for 24 hours and was filled with warm dialogue between the government, community and regional chiefs of various transmigration areas such as North Kayong (West Kalimantan), East Luwu (South Sulawesi) and East Seram (Maluku).
