AHY presents performance results in 1 year of Prabowo's administration
Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) is strengthening his role to accelerate regional development. AHY also continues to be successful in the self-sufficiency program as part of efforts to realize national independence in the first year of the leadership of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. According to him, infrastructure is not only about concrete and steel, but about opening up new economic opportunities, creating jobs and providing a better quality of life for the people. “We want to ensure that every rupee spent on infrastructure actually provides real benefits to the wider community, especially in areas that have not been affected by development,” AHY said in a written statement on Thursday (23/10/2025). Scroll to continue content “Our approach is holistic and sustainable, integrating environmental, social and economic aspects in a balanced manner,” he continued at the Media Gathering held in Jakarta, Monday (21/10). The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure itself orchestrates five technical ministries. These include the Ministry of Agricultural Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (ATR/BPN), Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia (PU), Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas of the Republic of Indonesia (PKP), Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenhub), and Ministry of Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia (Kementrans). Through this synergy, the national priority agenda that is being implemented includes economic growth, self-sufficiency in water, food, energy, as well as improving the quality of education and health. At the Ministry of ATR/BPN, equitable regional development is carried out through agrarian and spatial planning. At the Ministry of Public Works the focus is on basic infrastructure. Meanwhile, the PKP Ministry is developing housing and settlement facilities and infrastructure. In addition, the Ministry of Transport is strengthening national connectivity, and the Ministry of Transmission is encouraging regional equity through various community-based programs. To support food self-sufficiency, the government builds, improves and rehabilitates irrigation networks that irrigate hundreds of thousands of hectares of rice fields. Meanwhile, for water self-sufficiency, a number of dams have been constructed in various provinces, with progress reaching 60 percent – 10 dams have been completed out of the target of 15 units. Self-sufficiency in the energy sector through the 2025-2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) supported by solar, hydro, wind, geothermal, bioenergy and nuclear sources with a total capacity of 42.6 gigawatts (GW). When combined with 16.6 GW of fossil energy and 10.3 GW of storage, the total additional generation capacity reaches 69.5 GW. The government also started 165 People’s Schools accommodating 15,920 students. Currently, the government is building 104 People’s School locations in various city districts by 2026 for 121,320 students. In addition, the Ministry of Public Works will also assist in the construction of 264 Free Nourishing Meal (MBG) kitchens as facilities to support community education and nutrition. In the 3 million house programme, 200,809 units were built through the Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP) or 57% of the target of 350,000 units. Self-help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) reached 23,420 units or 52% of the planned 45,073 units, while state borne VAT (VAT DTP) was applied to 177,970 housing units. Construction of public facilities, infrastructure and utilities will take place in 456 coastal, 858 rural and 800 urban locations, accompanied by dealing with slum settlements in 17 provinces and 32 districts/cities. Apart from that, it is also supported by a number of excellent transmigration programmes, namely Trans Tuntas, which has issued 6,615 certificates of ownership rights (SHM) for transmigrants. Then Trans Local where 1,299 families were placed in 10 places, then Trans Karya Nusa with 95 transmigrant families who worked in Trans Karya Nusa placements. Next there is Trans Patriot, namely as many as 2,000 academics and professors placed in 154 transmigration locations, as well as Trans Mutual Cooperation, which has reached 42 MoUs, of which 23 are universities, 2 state-owned companies, 16 ministries/institutions and 1 non-governmental institution. Infrastructure to support connectivity and economic growth with the improvement and construction of 711.02 km of roads and 184.42 meters of bridges was carried out in the first phase, as well as 567.74 km of roads and 6.8 meters of bridges in the second phase. In addition, 90.79 km of operational toll roads, 6 type A terminals, 2 international cargo terminals and 20 ports have been rehabilitated or developed. This program also supports border airports, the National Capital (NIC) and the National Tourism Strategic Area (NSTA). In the railway sector, improvements were made to stations, railways, electrification systems, signals and telecommunications. A number of innovations have also been implemented, such as reducing ticket prices for Nataru by 10% and Eid by 13-14%. Other innovations include the introduction of the ALL Indonesia system, as well as the control of Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) with a target of zero ODOL by 2027. Meanwhile, the development of the Rebana Area and Aerocity Kertajati is a clear example of a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating regional economic growth based on the aviation and logistics industry. AHY believes that infrastructure development must be based on sustainable spatial planning so that it is in harmony with environmental conservation. The Detailed Spatial Planning Plan (RDTR) is now enhanced with large-scale maps from the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), so that regions can designate productive areas without sacrificing green space. “With a clear RDTR based on geospatial data, investment can come in faster without sacrificing the environment,” emphasizes AHY. The government is also encouraging the rejuvenation of transport vehicles to meet environmentally friendly standards, opening up opportunities for the automotive and clean energy industries as part of the transformation to a green economy. Other concrete steps have been taken through the development of coastal protection infrastructure in the Java Pantura to protect more than 50 million coastal residents, a modern drainage system, river normalization and the development of waste-to-energy facilities as part of a green infrastructure strategy that also opens new job opportunities. “The infrastructure we are building today is a long-term investment for people’s welfare. From spatial planning, transport, energy, to the environment, we have designed everything with the spirit of sustainability and equality,” said AHY. “We are not only building physically, but also building the foundation for a more just, green and inclusive future,” he continued.
