AI is reshaping businesses across sectors: Tarun Khanna
New Delhi, October 18 (IANS). Harvard Business School professor Tarun Khanna said India is at a critical stage in its development. Emphasizing the interrelationship between technology, education and management, he said that the reforms taking place in the education sector are special to India. Speaking to news agency IANS at the NDTV World Summit held in the country’s capital Delhi, he highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and said it is reshaping businesses across sectors and education is no exception. He said that as an educator, I believe that we are still in the early stages of understanding the true impact of AI. We need to carefully consider what skills AI can replace and where human potential can be enhanced by it. Prof. Khanna further said that while AI is widely discussed, its real benefits are not yet fully measurable on the ground level. We have yet to see the benefits of AI reflected in the end result. He suggested that more structured integration of technology could open up new possibilities for India’s youth. Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the summit, he praised the leadership for setting clear national goals. Prof. Khanna said that PM Modi is very decisive. His aspirations for India, as he expressed yesterday, are not only beneficial for the country but also for humanity as a whole. He further said that the guidance given by the Prime Minister’s office, especially on the initiatives taken in the Ministry of Education, reveals a focused and action-oriented management model.
