Aiptu Syamsul’s sacrifice in building a borehole resulted in a loan of IDR 500 million to the bank

Jakarta – Aiptu Ahmad Syamsul built 3 bore wells for residents in Muna, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra). The head of the Tongkuno police Samapta unit applied for credit from the bank to build a well so that residents can get clean water. Aiptu Syamsul has been building this well since 2019. Until now, he has built 3 wells out of 4 trials. The first borehole built by Aiptu Syamul was in Labora Hamlet. Clean water is difficult in this area, residents have to walk 3-4 kilometers to get to a clean water source. Syamsul decided to drill a well. During the trip, it needed further consideration because it was deeper,” said Syamsul in the Hoegeng Corner detikPagi program, Thursday, (2051). Syamsul said the drilling process was not easy due to the large number of rocks. He said drilling can only be 1-1.5 meters deep per day. This condition causes many costs to be incurred. “Instead of going backwards, I should rather move forward, my wife supports me, do it if we can do it, we will find out where we can pay, we borrow first, later after the work is done we will consider whether we can take credit or what,” he explained. The drilling process continued for up to 6 months. The depth of this drilled well is 143 meters. The cost of constructing a well is approximately IDR 400 million. “As a result, with the water that came out, we did not feel ashamed, in the end I asked through our leadership of the Police to take out credit, I first applied for IDR 500 (million), what was used was about IDR 400 (million) for one point of this drilled well,” he said. Apart from that Aiptu Syamsul constructed 2 other bore wells. The drilled well is located at the mosque. The total construction of the 3 wells is approximately IDR 500-600 million. “For this hamlet point, the area does not support it because the height from the sea is about 120 or 150 meters above sea level, so for this hamlet it really costs a lot of money. But for the others, these 3 mosques, it is more or less 30 per point,” he said. (lir/fas)
