The names of 65 Lakh voters came out in Bihar, the Electoral Commission acted on the Supreme Court's direction
The Electoral Commission (ECI) on Monday released the list of names of 65 lakh voters removed from the draft voters list to special intensive review (SIR) in Bihar. According to officials, this step was taken in line with the Supreme Court instructions. In fact, on August 14, in an interim order, the Supreme Court ordered the Electoral Commission to release the list of Booth Wise by August 19, the names of which were not recorded on the draft voter list on August 1. Apart from this, the commission will also have to submit a detailed report by August 22. Reasons must be removed with each name. The commission said that the names removed from the concept of voters list fall into the category (absent, transferred, dead). This includes dead voters, voters, absent or double registered voters. The Supreme Court has clearly stated that reasons must be removed with each name and published. According to Bihar election officer (CEO), the lists published in different districts, including Rohtas, Begusarai, ARWal, ASD lists on site in different districts, including Rohtas, Begusarai, Arwal. The Electoral Commission is also preparing to provide these lists online so that transparency remains. This step is considered very important before the upcoming meeting election in Bihar. The Supreme Court says that the process of removing the name from the voters list must be transparent and liable, so that the rights of any qualified voter are not affected. Amendment in the voter list will lead to fair elections. Experts believe that removing the names of 65 lakh voters is a big step and this will increase transparency in the election process.
