Air pollution crisis in Madhya Pradesh, 29 districts are suffocated by toxic air

Measures and initiatives taken to combat air pollution in Madhya Pradesh are insufficient. In 2024–25, air quality in 29 district headquarters performed worse than compared to the previous year. The air quality index in these areas has increased rather than decreasing. It also contains Indore, which was once considered the cleanest city in the country. However, Bhopal has improved. Noteworthy is that AQI is also increasing in tribal districts such as Alirajpur, Dindori, Umaria and Betul. Air pollution is increasing as a result of rapid development work and not to the standards in small districts. This shocking announcement was made by the Madhya Pradesh pollution control board. The burning of crop residues (stubble and narwai) due to weakened conditions, construction activities and poor conditions is mainly responsible for raising pollution. The fabric blows, which increases the levels of PM-10 and PM 2.5 in the atmosphere. This was revealed in the annual report of Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board 2024-25. According to officials, instructions were given to act by informing the relevant departments of the districts. Share this story -tags
