Akhilesh Yadav meeting Azam Khan is a welcome step: Ajay Rai

Lucknow/New Delhi, October 8 (IANS). The President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, Ajay Rai, gave a great response to the meeting of Samajwadi party head Akhilesh Yadav and senior party leader Azam Khan. Ajay Rai said that Azam Khan is one of the founding members of the Samajwadi party and was a close employee of party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. The relationship between the two was like that of an older and younger brother. Akhilesh meeting Azam Khan is a good step. Azam Khan’s experience and guidance is important for the Samajwadi party. The meeting of the two leaders is a positive step towards strengthening opposition unit. At the same time, Ajay Rai takes a dig in the position of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and his allies regarding the Bihar meeting election. He said that the situation of BJP in Bihar is bad and that his allies feel uncomfortable. Attempts are underway to convince BJP’s allies, but India Alliance completed his preparations and strongly disputed the election. He said: “The issue of ‘voting theft’ in Bihar has now reached every household. Our strategy is clear and we are going to form the government with full confidence.” Ajay Rai also targeted the Bahujan Sama Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati. He said that Kanshi Ram was a great leader, who founded BSP by dedicating his life for the lifting of Dalits and the downfall. But Mayawati sold his hard work and now he supports BJP. Mayawati’s policy is against Dalit interests and her strategy has weakened the basic base of BSP. Meanwhile, congress -LP Tariq Anwar said that the coordination committee in the India Alliance holds regular meetings and the final decision on the award will be made soon. He said the alliance was fighting the election under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav. We are confident that the alliance will achieve a great victory in Bihar. We are nowhere worried. Our strategy and leadership are strong. —IANS AKS/ABM Share these Story Tags
