Akhilesh Yadav's official Facebook account suspended, claims the party: 'opposing voice is suppressed'
SAMAJWADI PARTY (SP) claimed on Friday, October 10, that President Akhilesh Yadav’s official Facebook account was suspended, accusing the Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government to organize the move. The former chief minister regularly used his Facebook page to express his opinion on management and “shortcomings”. The specific cause for suspension of his Facebook account has yet to be revealed. According to sources, the former account of Uttar Pradesh with more than eight million followers was suspended around 6pm on Friday. SP spokeswoman Fakhrul Hasan Chaand wrote on ‘X’, “the Facebook version of the respected Akhilesh Yadav Ji, the national president of the country’s third largest party, suspended an attack on democracy.” “The BJP government has imposed an inexplicable emergency, where every opposing voice is suppressed. But the Samajwadi party will continue to oppose the BJP’s policy against people,” he said. Party -member Pooja Shukla said: “Facebook dared to cross its boundaries – it suspended the official page of Akhilesh Yadav Ji (@yadavakhilesh) without any warning or notice.” “It’s not an ordinary version – it’s Akhilesh Yadav Ji, the voice of millions! Facebook must remember its boundaries – it can’t silence democracy. SAMAJWADIS, it’s time to bring Facebook to its sense! Such arrogance will not be tolerated, ‘she said. Samawadi party spokesman Pawan Pandey also tweeted against Facebook about the suspension of Akhilesh Yadav’s social media account and said it was done without any notice or communications. “It’s no ordinary version – it’s a malicious attempt to suppress the voice of Akhilesh Yadav Ji, the voice of Indian democracy and millions of people!” He said.
