Sidoarjo – Santri named Al Fatih were safely evacuated from the ruins of the Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school in Sidoarjo, East Java. He claims to have fallen asleep so that he does not realize that the musala has collapsed. All Fatih only realized some of his ‘sleep’ after being evacuated by the rescue team. Once aware, his first request was a glass of ice to remove thirst. The story of Al Fatih was told by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa after visiting the students of the survivors in the disaster of the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school, Buduran, Sidoarjo. The visit was held Thursday (2/10/2025) in two hospitals, namely RT Notopuro Hospital and Siti Hajar Islamic Hospital. He listened to the story of the victims, including all of Fatih’s experience. “It seems that three days of sleep. When evacuated, he just realized that there was a collapse. When he was evacuated, he asked to drink ice,” Khofifah said, reports Detikjatim on Friday (3/10/2025). There is also a story of Haikal, who still does prayers, even if in a difficult condition. “Their mood is incredibly strong. Hopefully everything will recover soon,” Khofifah said.
