Kolkata, June 20 (IANS). Western BJP President and Minister of State of the State of the Union, Sukant Majumdar, wrote a letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker, to Birla, that he was attacked in Maheshtala on Thursday. Majumdar gave a notice under Rule 222 of the procedure and work rules in the Lok Sabha, which left the allegations of serious attacks on dignity, safety and freedom of traffic and the privilege of a Member of Parliament and the Minister of Union. Dr. Sukant Majumdar wrote in the notice: “On June 19, 2025, when I visited Diamond Harbor to meet the victims of political violence and judge the law and ordinary situation in the area, my official convoy was surrounded and allegedly violent attacks were carried out by a crowd of trinamols. Superintendent of the police (Rahul Goswami) was present during this horrific incident, but he took no protective steps, which deliberately disregarded the duty and promoted political violence. Just the life of a public representative, but also attacked the dignity and privilege of an MP. I request you to take note of the matter and send it to the Location Committee for proper investigation and actions. “
