Amazon India launches massive recruitment drive: over 1.5 lakh seasonal work created before the festive season

Amazon India has announced the creation of more than 150,000 seasonal positions in its operating network, including fulfillment centers, sorting centers and delivery stations in the last kilometer, as the company is preparing for the upcoming festive season. Opportunities in 400+ cities The opportunities are spread over more than 400 cities, which cover major urban centers such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Lucknow. The roles include both direct and indirect positions within Amazon’s operations, which aim to manage the increased demand during the festive season. Amazon India also said that thousands of female collaborators and more than 2000 individuals with different persons were offered positions as part of this recruitment drive. The majority of new employees are already on board and trained in preparation for the expected surge in customers’ orders in the coming weeks. Investment in water supplement projects, meanwhile, announced on August 11 that it has committed more than £ 37 to water supplement initiatives across the country. The projects are expected to recover more than 3 billion liters of water annually, benefiting the communities that face the scarcity of water. The program covers four major cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New -Delhi and Mumbai and joins Amazon’s goal to return more water to communities than it consumes in its direct operations in India. Abhinav Singh, vice president of activities for Amazon India and Australia, emphasized the urgency to address water safety as a critical environmental challenge in India. He added that the projects aimed to strengthen immediate access to water and long -term resilience, to support agricultural resistant, improve biodiversity and to secure urban water supplies. Amazon’s portfolio includes the recovery of Yamare near Bengaluru and Sai Reddy Lake near Hyderabad, in partnership with Saytrees, which is expected to complement about 570 million liters annually.
