Amit Panghal Birthday: The boxer who turned brother’s faith into success

New Delhi, October 15 (IANS). Boxing is becoming very popular as a professional sport in India. Indian boxers are constantly raising the name of the country on international platforms. Amit Panghal is also a boxer who has won medals for the country in boxing many times on the international stage. Amit Panghal was born on 16 October 1995 in Maina village of Rohtak district, Haryana. Amit’s father Vijendra Singh Panghal is associated with farming and elder brother Ajay Panghal is a Havildar in the Indian Army. Ajay himself was a boxer, but due to financial problems he himself withdrew from this field, but he inspired his younger brother Amit to achieve great success in boxing. Amit did not miss his brother’s sacrifice and dedication and left his mark at the international level and brought glory to himself and his family around the world. In 2007, at the age of 12, Amit started training at Sir Chhotu Ram Boxing Academy. His career flourished in 2010. Amit won gold medal in Sub-Junior Nationals in Maharashtra. Making his debut at senior level in 2017, he won gold in the National Boxing Championship. In the same year, he entered the international stage by winning a bronze medal in the Asian Amateur Boxing Championship (49 kg category) in Tashkent. He had to face defeat to Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals of the World Championship. The year 2018 was very important for Amit’s career. He created history by winning the gold medal in light flyweight (49 kg) in the Jakarta Asian Games. In the final, Amit defeated Hasanboy Dusmatov. Amit won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, silver at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and gold at the Bangkok Asian Championships in 2019.
