Discussion with experts, Menbud discusses the promotion of Indonesian gastronomy in the world area

Jakarta – The Ministry of Culture has held a discussion related to the promotion of Indonesian gastronomy abroad with the nucantara gastronomic activists. For this reason, Fadli hopes this discussion can deliver a roadmap of the Indonesian gastronomy advancement strategy. He also invited collaboration with gastronomic activists and local governments in the World Culture Forum that took place in Bali in 2025. “Today’s discussion is an important beginning in preparing the national framework for promoting Indonesian gastronomy at the global level. I am sure that ideas and recommendations can be born by this discussion as the basis of the composition of a comprehensive and inclusive policy framework to encourage cross -sectoral collaboration,” he explained. Meanwhile, culinary expert William Wongso has revealed the importance of basic education to investigate the culinary culture itself. He sees it as still quite weak and underestimated. “Indonesian young people need to know their own culinary, and now we have to see what our weakness is in promoting food and how the strategy,” William said. In addition to the underlined education, gastronomic activists who attended, also discussed the importance of designing the most important narrative of promoting Indonesian gastronomy, maintaining local food, encouraging regulations, embarking on recipes and initiation of food museums.
