Andra Soni meets the Damri managing director, examines the Banten Rapid Transit Bus cooperation

Jakarta – Banten -Governor Andra Soni met with Perum Damri to investigate collaboration in providing public transport services in the form of buses in Serang City and surrounding areas. He wants to build a bus transport system with a quick transport system. The meeting took place on Thursday (5/15/2025) in the State Building, Serang City, Banten. Perum Damri director Setia Milatia Moemin and the head of Banten Provincial Transport Agency, Tri Nurtopo, were present at the meeting. On that occasion, Andra expressed his desire to provide a comfortable and affordable way of transporting to the people of Banten. He also wanted to discuss the potential of cooperation between the Banten provincial government and Perum Damri. Andra explained that he had a program design called Banten Rapid Transit (Barata), which was part of his campaign promise to overcome transport problems and increase connectivity, including DKI Jakarta. Right now, PT Transjakarta has opened the Transjabodetabek service for the Blok M-Alam Sutera route, Tangerang. “Banten Rapid Transit is a program that I offer to the public to answer the challenges of transportation connection. We worked with Transjakarta, we naturally need extra support,” he said. He added, if possible, the Banten provincial government will establish further cooperation with Perum Damri. Further meetings between the two parties are planned to be carried out. “If this is possible, we will of course work together. This is the principle of cooperation. But if we have to do it alone and do our financially, we will do it,” Andra added. Meanwhile, Damri managing director Setia Milatia Moemin said there was a possibility of cooperation between Damri and Banten Provincial Government by the Buy the Service (BTS) scheme. But the concept still has to be aged, whether it should use the BTS scheme or other forms. So far, the meeting is still in the initial exploration phase,” he explained.
