Annamalai's possibility of leaving the post of BJP-Aadmk Alliance reinforced

With Aiadmk in Tamil Nadu, the state president of the Saffron Party KK Annamalai is likely to be removed from the post. According to sources, Annamalai was asked to help the BJP form an alliance with AIADMK, not as a ‘punishment’ to leave the post, but to face the 2026 election. Nanar Nagendran, the leader of the BJP Law Party and a Minister during Jayalalithaa, can replace Nagendran Annamalai. Annamalai was called to Delhi last week and held a meeting with Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah for an hour. According to sources, during the meeting he presented a detailed report on the development of BJP in Tamil Nadu, possible strategies prepared by the party in the state and the party’s comparisons within the BJP in Tamil Nadu. The Delhi High Command decided to remove Annamalai from the post, but he promised his ‘loyalty’ to the party and in return the party promised him to maintain him as a prominent person in the 2026 election. According to sources, the Central Leadership of the BJP has brought a new strategy to fight the DMC in the state and it feels that it is important to win a large number for the party. A few days before the Annamalai meeting with Amit Shah, the general secretary of Aiadmk, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, also met the Minister of Home Affairs. One of the most important demands of Palanisamy was to change Annamalai, as he was considered the main reason for the exposition of AIADMK-BJP in 2024. The second reason for the Delhi High Command’s plan to change Annamalai is to solve caste comparisons in the AIADMK-BJP alliance. While Palanisamy and other aiadmk leaders come from the west, Annamalai also comes from the Gounder community, which is an important cabinets in the West and did not help the BJP’s actions in the south. According to sources, Nanar Nagendran, who comes from the big thevar community from the south, can help both BJP and Aiadmk when the two parties come together. A senior BJP leader said this week: “Annamalai gained proper respect during the meeting with Amit Shah and, according to his opponents, no misconduct was made to him.” However, Annamalai could not resign immediately and it will be announced a few days before the new national president’s election.
