The Badal responded to the recent statement of the Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth on the ‘Military Care Policy’ in the US Army, and banned the beard of soldiers and only specialized special powers are exempt from this ban. In a letter to Jaishankar, Badal said that Sikhs around the world is very sad and concerned about Hegseth’s statement and that he expects an early solution from this issue. Badal said this decision against the principle of freedom is to follow religion, which is the cornerstone of American democracy. He said the US administration accepted the right to retain the turban and beard of the Sikhs involved in the US Army.
