Abu Dhabi, September 17 (IANS). In the Asia Cup 2025, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by 8 runs in the match played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Afghanistan had a target of 155 runs to win. The Afghan team was reduced to 146 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 8 runs. Afghanistan’s top -order batsman Sendikullah Atal Zero and Ibrahim Jadaran were rejected for 5 runs. The failure of both caused the defeat of the Afghanistan team. Wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer for 35 runs. Ajmatullah Umarzai scored 30 and Captain Rashid Khan scored 20 runs. The remaining batsman could not face Bangladesh bowlers.
