Asian Cadet Cup starts in Haldwani, 190 players participating

Haldwani, September 19 (IANS). The Asian Kadet Cup fencing competition started on Friday at the international stadium in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. In this four-day tournament, among 17 players from 17 countries, including India, will showcase their talent. In the Asian Cadet Cup fence, the swords of 17 countries showed their endurance. The game is arranged by the Fencing Association of India. Players from different Asia countries showed up to participate in this competition. The competition was inaugurated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He congratulated the Indian Floor Association and Sports Department on the event. The chief minister said that fence is our traditional sport, which is also mentioned in our script. Referring to major personalities such as Rani Laxmibai, chief minister Dhami said that fence is now gradually making a global identity and that Indian players also blow their glory in it. The pride of Uttarakhand is increasing with this international event. The state government always stands by the players. The chief minister said that the Uttarakhand government is performing various schemes to encourage players so they can get a better platform. After the successful host of the national games, Uttarakhand is known as ‘Sports Bhoomi’. In this direction, the government will also form a sports university in Haldwani and women’s sports colleges in Lohaghat. Uttarakhand is constantly establishing a new dimension in sports. A total of 190 players participate in this competition, including 46 foreign and 144 Indian players. Foreign players have 13 women and 33 male players. Players from Mongolia, Iran, Bahrain, Iraq, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Australia, Turkmenistan, Lebanon, T -takistan and Sri Lanka participate in the competition. The competition runs until September 22, organized by the Fencing Association of India.
