The Feast of Bakrid 2025 in India will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7. This date was set up based on the moon in India, which according to the Islamic calendar falls on the 10th district Hija. Dates can vary from this day in different countries as it depends on the moon. For example, this festival will be celebrated on Friday, June 6 in Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East. The Feast of Bakrid in India is celebrated in memory of Islamic Prophet Abraham’s sense of loyalty and sacrifice to Allah. On this day, special prayers are offered, and animals are sacrificed, called Qurbani. The flesh of sacrifice is divided into three parts: one part for the family, the other for family members and friends, and the third part for the poor and the needy. It promotes the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation in society. Bakrid is a government vacation in India, and on this day government offices, banks, schools and colleges were closed.
