Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a historic defense agreement on Wednesday. According to media reports, the agreement was called the name ‘Strategic Recipient Defense Agreement’. Below it was decided that if any country is attacked, it will be considered an attack on both countries. The agreement was reached during Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia. He reached Riyadh where he was welcomed by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman in Al-Yammah Palace. According to a Pakistani media report, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office said the agreement was based on the almost eight decades to a partnership between the two countries, which further strengthened with the fraternity, Islamic solidarity and shared strategic interests. The attack on one will be considered an attack against both. The joint statement states that the agreement will not only deepen bilateral security relations, but also contribute to the local and global peace. It also explains that the attack on any country will be considered an attack against both. The agreement emphasizes the strengthening of the cooperation of the defense, the development of joint resistance and confirmation of any possible attack. He was welcomed by Deputy Governor Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulziz when Premier Shahbaz Sharif Riyadh reached Sharif. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Khwaja Asif, Minister of Defense, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Information, Musadik Malik and special assistant Tariq Fatimi.
