Hysterics as Dog Eavesdropping Over Fence Takes Job ‘Very Seriously’ – ryan
A dog’s dedication to her unofficial job as the neighborhood watch left viewers wanting this security system set up in their homes.
Dog owner Anna Vogt rescued her hound dog, Carrot, from the Nashville Humane Society last year, and since then, she’s kept busy keeping her safe due to Carrot’s obsession with climbing.
As a Treeing Walker Coonhound and foxhound mix, Carrot can’t keep her paws on the ground. This dog breed, developed in the United States to hunt raccoons, can climb trees and isn’t afraid to chase prey up the trunk, according to Dogster.
Carrot uses her natural abilities to climb in unexpected places and protect the house, earning her a job as the neighborhood watch. She likes to keep track of the neighborhood’s happenings, which she does in unconventional ways.
In an April 8 TikTok video posted to the account @annakvogt1000, Vogt found Carrot standing on the grill, which was pushed up against the fence. She propped herself up to give herself a better look at what was going on outside her territory. Her front legs rested on top of the fence, with her back legs on the grill, holding her steady.

Focused on the job at hand, the dog stood frozen while she eavesdropped. She stayed locked into the happenings outside her yard. While many might consider her a nosy neighbor, Carrot doesn’t mind. All she worries about is keeping her household safe.
The caption reads: “Carrot takes her job as neighborhood watch very seriously.”
Vogt wasn’t too surprised when she saw Carrot on the grill, as she told Newsweek via TikTok that this behavior is an “everyday occurrence.”
“She also loves to climb trees and stand on furniture in the house,” she said. “She makes life very interesting, that’s for sure.”
The TikTok video amassed over 5.9 million views, 1.4 million likes and 3,138 comments as of Thursday. People quickly became obsessed with Carrot’s guard dog skills, claiming she needs a raise.
“I would pay good money for this security system,” one viewer wrote.
Another commented: Really just nosy, not even trying to escape.”
A third person commented: “Maybe she was an HOA president in her past life. Carrot, you’re so cute!”
