Sports Ministry has asked IOA to make panels to manage a wrestling setting
New -Delhi, December 24 (IANS), asked the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to set up a temporary panel to monitor the operation of the Indian Wrestling Federation (WFI). Sources said that a letter was sent to the IOA, suggesting that the temporary committee should receive the care and regulation of the operation of WFI, including the responsibility of the selection. The ministry suspended the announcement of Sanjay Singh on Sunday in “Haste” at national level. The ministry issued a letter stating: “Sanjay Kumar Singh, the newly elected president of the Wrestling Federation of India, on 21.12.2023, announced that the day he was elected president announced that the under-15 for wrestling and under 20 national competitions in Nandini Nagar, Gonda (UP) will be held before the end of this year.” The letter reads: “This announcement was made in a hurry without providing adequate information to the wrestlers who must participate in the aforementioned national competitions and follow without the provisions of the Constitution of WFI.” It was further written in the letter that according to Article 3 (e) of the preamble of the Constitution of WFI, the purpose of WFI is to make arrangements to organize senior, junior and sub Junior National Championships according to UWW rules in selected locations by the Executive Committee.
