Awami League protests in Geneva, vote voting against human rights violations in Bangladesh

Geneva, October 3 (IANS). The Awami League Party of Bangladesh arranged a protest march and a human chain near the historic ‘Broken Chair’ memorial on Friday before the United Nations Human Rights Commission headquarters in Geneva. The demonstration was made against the violation of murders, terrorism and human rights under the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus. The protesters accused the Yunus government of broader human rights abuse in the country, saying that it is necessary to free Bangladesh and his citizens from the possession of the ‘Fascist Yunus gang’. The rally was arranged by the Awami League of the Switzerland branch. The program is chaired by the president of Jamadar Nazrul Islam, while the operation was conducted by General Secretary Shyamal Khan. Sheikh Hasina, president of Awami League and the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, addressed the rally as the main guests, delivered a virtual speech. In addition, the president of Akhil European Awami League, Nazrul Islam, the leader of Awami League units from different countries of Europe and officials of the Swiss Awami League, also expressed their views. After the rally, a memorandum was presented to the United Nations Secretary General and the head of the United Nations Human Rights Commission. An official of the commission formally received the document. The memorandum was jointly submitted by Migrant Bangladeshi’s, including M. Nazrul Islam, president of the European Awami League, Jamadar Nazrul Islam, president of Switzerland Awami League and other leaders, including secretary secretary Shyamal Khan.
