Now according to a report, Foxconn is planning to increase the production of iPhone models in its factories in India. It is said that this supplier of Apple made about 1.2 million smartphones in the country in 2024 and now there are plans to produce up to 3 crore units this year. Recent reports show that in future airpods, iPads and MacBook models can also be made in the country.
Bangalore’s Foxcony Factory on Trial
Quoting the sources associated with the case, the Economic Times report stated that Foxconn is doing a limited production trial in its Bengaluru campus. It is being said that these trials are the first phase of the company’s schemes to increase iPhone production in the country. According to the report, during these trials, Foxcon is doing the test whether the Bengaluru factory is capable of producing the iPhone by meeting the strict standards of Apple, even if the production is being done on a large scale.

Plan to make 2.5 to 3 crore handsets
A source told Publication that Foxconn made about 1.2 crore iPhone units in India in 2024 and plans to increase its production from 2.5 crore to 3 crore handsets. The company is expected to benefit from tax cuts on imports of smartphone components declared during the Union Budget. The publication states that Foxconn is relying on the Bengaluru factory to meet its new target of production up to 3 crore iPhone unit this year. After the completion of the trial, the contract manufacturer will go to the “Revenue Build” phase, allowing Foxcon-made handsets to be sent.

Dependence on China will be reduced
A recent report has revealed that Apple is also hiring in India before plans to start production of iPad, MacBook and Airports in the country.
