(Unsplash/Miguel a Amutio) Summary carbon technology -race shoes made it easy to break records. Before three big marathons, lounge tried two trending pairs of shoes to find out how they got off the road, “Money can’t buy your happiness, but it can buy your new running shoes, and it’s the same thing,” is going to do a meme these days. And if it’s carbon technology racing shoes, buyers are looking for more than happiness; They also hope for personal records. The records in the current world have been tumbling faster since Carbon Shoes debuted about eight years ago, and recreational runners of all abilities bought the idea that these shoes could also help them get faster and improve their timing. In the two races I ran this year – one was a half marathon and the other a 10K race – I found -100 minutes half marathoners, as well as runners who took more than 3 hours to complete the same distance (21 km) with carbon shoes costing more than £ 10,000. For example, Nike’s Vaporfly series is for distances to half marathons, while the Alfelly series is to full marathons for longer distances. Similarly, Adidas Takumi offers racing for up to 10 km and the Adios Pro Series is best used for longer races such as half and full marathons. Since testing carbon shoes in the road, I decided to mix things up a little and ran half a marathon in Adidas’ Adizero Takumi Sen 10 while I had a 10 km in Nike’s Alphafly 3. Prior to three major upcoming races – Boston Marathon (April 21), TCS London Marathon (April) and TCS World 10k Bengalu (April) – this I had a Race Day Shoes after running a few kilometers, two races, won two medals and lost three toenails. Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 10 Takumi Sen is one of the rare race shoes that Adidas chose to continue after carbon technology was introduced throughout the road. The original Takumi sens were designed as lightweight racing apartments with low damping for 5 km and 10 km races. The latest Takumi Sen 10 adheres to the original design principles, despite the addition of energy tongs – Adidas’ version of the carbon plates – in the midsole. This ensures that the Takumi senses stand out from carbon technology shoes due to their low pillow with a maximum of just 33 mm under the heel. It looks smooth compared to any other carbon shoe in the market. Adidas used its top of the Lyn Lightstrike Pro foam for the mid-sole and a very thin outdoor sole with smooth rubber of the Tire-Maker Continental, which ensures a good grip, even on wet surfaces. I ran marathons in older versions of this shoe, and the Takumi Sen 10 thus used half a marathon for this review. The shoe is very light and very respondent. The lower stack height means that your feet are closer to the ground and that you get a better feeling from the surface on which you walk. The LightStrike Pro Middelsole is exceptionally forty and along with the energy tongs, high -energy yield provides during walking. If I can take up a runner, it’s a cakewalk with this pair because I could easily pick up my pace when I want to run with friends I saw in front of me on the road. After saying this, they also perform well with a slower velocity, which I was forced to do while going up between 13 km and 15 km on a steep slope. These shoes are also ideal for the Indian weather, as the top is made of a perforated material that ensures a lot of ventilation for your feet. The one thing you have to remember about this pair is that they are narrow and tight; You need to get one partner larger than you usually carry. Although the brand says Takumi Sen 10 is best for distances up to 10 km, but it is also an excellent pair for half a marathon. With a new version that is due to soon, you will probably get a good deal of this now. Benefits: Smooth, stylish, low stack height, lightweight, extremely responding, available at a discount. Disadvantages: The mid -sole carries out quickly, running small, is narrow. What is available in the markets today for recreational runners and amateur athletes is exactly the same shoe used by Cipchoge, and the only exception is that the Kenyan Alphafly 3 custom shoes are tailored to him. This one is a very different pair than the Takumi Sen 10, which starts with the way the shoe looks. It seems thank you to the Dik ZoomX midsole containing a full-length carbon plate, along with two air zoom units. It is 40 mm on its thickest under the heel and 32 mm at the thinnest at the front foot. It uses the rough geometry for seamless transition from foot jump to down as it runs. A major design change is that the latest version has a continuous sole and not a split one found in previous generations Alphafly. This made the shoe much more stable, which meant that even slower runners would find the Alphafly 3 easier to use. The top mesh produced with Nike’s own Flynit technology allows a lot of ventilation and displays a large Nike Swoosh on the outside of each shoe. Unlike the Vaporfly 3, which I used for a 10km race last year, it feels more sturdy and offers a better grip. In the 10K race for which I used this pair, got away from the crowd around the starting line, needed to pick up pace and it was very effortless, and the shoes actually helped when I accelerated at the finish line for a sprint. The ZoomX foam feels more dense and firm and absorbs heavy feet much better. This makes the shoes ideal for longer races. The main disadvantage of the Alphafly 3 is that they are very hard when you hit the ground and also squeaked under your feet. Nike claims that the ZoomX foam used in Alphafly 3 is more durable, and if true, the pair can be used for more races and practice runs than most carbon shoes available in the market today. Benefits: Stable, lots of pillow, fast, high energy yield, durable. Cons: Loud, lasts at £ 22,795. Shrenik Alani is a writer and editor and co-author of the Shivfit Way, a book on functional fitness.
