Bangladesh: 'Gaza March' in Dhaka, showed thousands of people against Israel and America

Dhaka, April 12 (IANS). In the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka, thousands of people attended a great performance called ‘March for Gaza’. In this rally, people increased slogans in support of Palestine and condemned the US with Israel. The protesters increased slogans such as ‘Free Palestine’, ‘Stop Israeli attacks’, ‘Boycott Israeli products’, ‘boycott the US and Donald Trump’. According to local media reports, several protesters defeated photos of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and shouted slogans against him. The demonstration was supported by the most important political parties in Bangladesh such as Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), James-e-Islami, National Citizen Party (NCP), Hifajat-E-Islam Bangladesh and Amar Bangladesh Party. Many Islamic speakers also participated in this rally and strictly protested against Israel. The protesters called on the leaders of Muslim countries to end all compromises and diplomatic relations with Israel immediately. In addition, he demanded to implement the old rule of ‘valid for all countries except Israel’ in the passport of Bangladesh. According to the popular newspaper ‘Pratham Aloo’ of Bangladesh, people arrived from different parts of Dhaka to Suharwardi Gardens from Saturday morning, which stopped traffic in Shahbag and surrounding areas of the city. Earlier, Thursday, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s party also took a rally to support the people of Gaza and Rafah in Dhaka. Earlier this week, violence broke out during pro -Palestine protests in many areas. In some places, Israeli -related companies and outlets of foreign enterprises have also been targeted. In light of the protest, safety was tightened around the diplomatic areas of Dhaka, especially the US embassy. Border Guard Bangladesh, Armed Police Force, Special Branch, CID, Intelligence Agencies and Army staff were deployed. The safety of other embassies in the Gulshan area has also been increased.
