Under the second phase, the work of removing the gravel and bitumen material from the road above is now beginning. Due to the road built over the years, a lot of material has built on it. After this material is completely removed, the roof, that is, the upper part of the bridge, will be reinforced by archaeological method. So that water cannot enter into it. Many towers on both sides of the bridge are broken and will be reinstalled. The cracks in the bridge will be filled. Technical recording of 12 pillars of the bridge has also been done in which there is currently no need to do work on these pillars. After completing the second phase of the work, Asi will decide how it will be further established for tourists. ASI official said his conservation work would be completed at the end of November. He gave Lieutenant -Governor VK Saxena the date to complete the work by the end of October, but due to delayed monsoon rains, the work could start at the second phase. He said that the work to remove gravel and bitumen material from the bridge is almost complete.
