‘Barbaric, immoral and inhuman…’ Rashid Khan furious over the death of 3 Afghan cricketers, lashed out at Pakistan

Eight people, including three Afghan cricketers, were killed and seven others injured in Pakistani airstrikes. Afghanistan’s most prominent cricketer Rashid Khan reacted sharply to the incident, calling it “barbaric, immoral and inhumane” and strongly criticized Pakistan. Rashid Khan said: “Targeting civilians and young players is unacceptable under any circumstances; it is a gross violation of human rights.” He also supported the Afghanistan Cricket Board’s decision to withdraw from the upcoming matches against Pakistan. Rashid also shared a post on Instagram, which read: “I am deeply saddened by the loss of civilian lives in Afghanistan due to Pakistani airstrikes. It is a tragedy that has taken the lives of women, children and young cricketers who dreamed of representing their country on the world stage.” Rashid further wrote: “Targeting civilian infrastructure is completely unethical and barbaric. These unjust and illegal acts are a grave violation of human rights and should not be ignored.” Rashid did not stop there, he strongly criticized Pakistan and wrote: “I welcome the decision of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to withdraw from the matches against Pakistan as this act has cost innocent lives. I am with my people in these difficult times; Our national dignity must always be paramount.” Which three cricketers died in the Pakistan attack? ACB shared a post condoling the death of domestic cricketers in Paktika province during Pakistan military operation. The board expressed deep condolences over the martyrdom of the players and termed it as a great loss to the sports world of the country, especially cricket. ACB has given details of the entire incident in its post. The report states that the three cricketers went to play a friendly match in Sharana, the capital of Paktika.
